Shirley Edenfield Ulmer

-Savannah - Shirley Edenfield Ulmer, 74, died November 21, 2009 at Memorial University Medical Center. She was born in Savannah, daughter of the late Glenn Russell Edenfield and Ruby Dixon Edenfield. In her early years, Mrs. Ulmer was employed by Southern Bell and ASI Research Company. She and her husband previously lived in Franklin, Ohio, Richmond, Virginia and Norwalk, Iowa before returning to Savannah. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of the Baptist Church.

Surviving are her husband of 56 years, Carl B. Ulmer of Savannah; children, Carl R. Ulmer and his wife, Sheila of St. Mary's, GA; Glenn D. Ulmer and his wife, Sarah of Powhatan, VA; Michael E. Ulmer and his wife, Maya of Newport News, VA; Amy L. Ulmer of Cincinnati, OH; Sandra L. Banks and her husband, Jeff of St. Mary's, GA; brother, Joe Edenfield and his wife, Rebecca of Baxley, GA; sister, Glenda Hankinson of Savannah; eight grandchildren, three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation: 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, November 23, 2009 at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Islands Chapel.

Funeral: 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 24, 2009 in the Islands Chapel of Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors.

Burial: Bonaventure Cemetery.
